Känning
“Where the body remembers what the mind has forgotten.”
Känning is an architectural encounter between hand-carved wood and traditionally forged iron. It is a tribute to intellectual humility—the realization that we do not always possess the answers, yet we carry the tools to seek them deep within ourselves.
The work features a hand-etched Triskele alongside the words Ged, Hugr, and Likamr (Feeling, Thought, Body). This threefold compass serves as a reminder of the connection between what we think, what we feel, and the signals our body provides. The flame from the candle casts shadows within the carvings, acting as an anchor for daily reflection; a prompt to trust your own inner compass when the world outside feels clouded.
This piece was crafted as a one-of-a-kind manifestation in iron and wood and has found its home through the Inner Circle.
Defying the depths
"When chaos rises, it takes a will of iron to hold the line."
Imagine resting your hand against the cool, forged iron, feeling the stark contrast of the hand-carved wood. This candleholder is a physical manifestation of the struggle between order and chaos—a reminder of your capacity to stand firm when the storm is at its peak.
Inspired by the myth of Thor and the Midgard Serpent, this piece captures a moment of absolute resilience. It is a tribute to those who confront their fears and transform the unknown into a personal victory; a visual anchor that validates your journey toward self-mastery.
Heid
"From the trial of the flames, the clarity you now carry is born."
Heid is a materialization of the transformation from vulnerability to enduring wisdom. This work rests upon the myth of Gullveig, capturing the pivotal moment she emerges from the fire, endowed with newfound power.
The iron represents the weight of experience and the "three burnings"—those arduous seasons that have pierced through life. It is raw, scarred, and bears the deliberate marks of the hammer; a foundation proving you stood firm when the heat was at its peak. The bronze at its crest symbolizes the reclaimed strength and the lucidity that rises from the trial.
This piece was crafted as a one-of-a-kind puzzle in iron and bronze and has found its keeper through the Inner Circle.
The wanderer's wisdom
"Let the flame illuminate the words that time can never erase."
Picture a quiet evening as the candlelight casts long, living shadows across the carved features of Odin. As you trace the hand-cut runes, the room fills with the weight that only centuries of insight can provide.
The Wanderer’s Wisdom serves as a bridge between your modern search and the timeless Northern philosophy of the Havamal. It is a celebration of hard-won insight and a reminder that there is always a path forward—a "song of help" for your unique journey.
The Runes spells: "Ljóð ek þau kann... hjalp heitir eitt...", Songs I know, help is one
